Illumination

The sign is illuminated to UL924 requirements for up to 20 years without requiring electricity. Minimum brightness at the time of manufacture is 0.15 foot lamberts.

Mounting

Suitable for surface, ceiling, wall and end mounting.

Housing

• The sign is encased in a high-impact, 5va fire retardant ABS plastic housing.
• Housing is available in White, Black or Gray color.

Installation

• Suitable for wet, cold, vandal prone and hazardous location installations.
• Installation is quick and simple as there is no need for running electricity.
• Installation requires a screw driver and anchors.
• An installation kit with the required screws and arrows configuration options is provided. 

Electrical

This sign does not require electricity. The sign is illuminated with Tritium-filled tubes that are internally coated with a phosphorescent powder which provides UL924 compliant brightness for up to 100ft viewing distances for a lifespan of 10 to 20 years, depending on the model selected. 

Mechanical

• Manufactured under stringent quality control procedures and meets all requirements of the Atomic Energy Control Board (AECB) and the Federal Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
• Illumination is achieved by using a permanent internal light source of Tritium gas encased in Borosilicate coated glass tubes which are internally coated in phosphorescent powder. The Tritium reflecting on the phosphorescent powder generates light.
• Light emitting phosphors are designed and selected according to their color and light production efficiency.
• Features several glass envelopes (tubes) that are encased behind plastic housing light diffusers.
• To reduce chance of breakage, the Borosilicate tubes feature shockproof mountings made of PVC.

Applications

• Non-electrically driven light source.
• Indoor or outdoor locations where access to electricity is difficult or costly.

Optics

• Borosilicate tubes filled with Tritium gas and internally coated with a green colored phosphorus powder, emit light through a refractive lens.
• Specially designed white trays housing the tubes provide optimal light direction for illuminating the letters EXIT and arrows.
• Arrows are illuminated by green luminous tubes which are visible once the chevron/arrow stencils are removed.
• The arrows (none, single, double) are configurable at the time of installation.
• The Face/Legend panels are available in Red or Green and provide a vivid contrast to the Tritium illuminated EXIT lettering and arrows.

Construction

Constructed of impact-resistant, 5va flame retardant rated thermoplastic housing with an optically clear UV stabilized acrylic lens and lexan stencil and Tritium-filled borosilicate tubes.

Intended Use

• Indoors or Outdoors in areas where access to permanent electrical circuits for running an exit sign is costly or difficult.
• Provides a suitable solution for areas prone to flammable vapors or dust. Explosion proof.
• Suitable for areas with water contact and/on extremely cold temperatures (down to -76F). Waterproof.
• Vandal Resistant.
